I’m sometimes confused in an awkward way as to “holding doors open” for others. Of course if someone is right behind me I hold it open. If someone who will need help with the door – but perhaps will take 30 min to make 4 ft, then what to do. I really don’t pay attention to what the person looks like. Attractive or not. And then if someone is holding the door for me, I feel responsible for racing up and through so as not to detain them.
Now pertaining to how close in elevators, subways, etc., I like a certain amt of non-contact space. Bad enough you have to breathe in the same air.
Years ago when I road the commuter with my son, there was a man at our stop that set up his space on the train in such a way that you knew he wanted the whole seat – even the 3 seater. Sort of a Monk phobia type guy perhaps.
Question-do people who spread into other people’s space need to conquer or do they need a hug?

OMg that was funny I think you should hold the door in there close or have there hands full. if they pop your personal bubble they are too close and should walk away
